Yesterday

Hi Everyone,

We can’t thank you all enough for your generosity with your time, love and support. Yesterday was Aaren’s memorial service and everyone did a great job of coming together and loving on us and showing Aaren the love and respect that we all thought he deserved.

Thank you.

Mike & Mary.

P.S. Please continue to keep us in your prayers.

Memorial Service

Hi Everyone,

We have scheduled Aaren’s memorial service for this Thursday. You can read the details here.

Thank you.

Mike & Mary Cowles.

Sad news…

Hi Everyone,

Our time with Aaren came to an end this morning around 9 am.  He passed while he was in mom’s arms with dad by her side. His life was a beautiful gift for us and everyone around him and we will never forget him.

While we were in the hospital we were surrounded by a ton of wonderful people. The nurses and doctors all took turns holding Aaren and loving on him when Mary and I were resting.

We want to thank each and everyone of you for your support and prayers.  God made it clear to us that he was orchestrating everything, and made sure Mary was safe and that I (Mike) got to be with them during his birth and his passing.

Please continue to keep us in your prayers and take the time to share your love with each other.

With much love,

Mike & Mary Cowles.

P.S. A special thanks to Kathie Kobler, Dr.Koss, Dr. Sheftel, Dr.Ramesh and everyone else on staff. You really made our time with Aaren special.

Pictures!!

We have had so much fun and tears with Aaren. He is funny and beautiful and soooo fragile that you can’t help but love him. When Mary and I are resting, the nurses AND doctors fight over who gets to hold him. =)

Life is fragile and short. If you haven’t talked to a friend or family member for awhile, please call them now.

Happy Birthday Aaren!

Well, he came a little earlier than expected…

Mary was due to have a c-section on Friday at noon, but Aaren had other plans! At around 7pm Thursday Mary started having contractions every 1-2 minutes. When we got to the hospital our doctor told us we’d get to meet Aaren in about 30 mins!

At exactly 11pm Aaren Michael Cowles was brought into our world.

He is very calm and has to work harder than most babies to breath, which causes him to make the cutest little ‘kitten’ sound.

We appreciate your prayers and support and will keep you updated here as things progress.

With much gratitude and love,

Mike & Mary.

Getting nearer…

Hi Everyone,

Well, we’re getting nearer to the day that we’re going to meet baby Aaren. Mary is scheduled for a c-section on June 26th. We are both excited and scared about the possabilities of that day, (more here)…

Please keep us in your prayers.

With much gratitude,

-Mike & Mary Cowles.

A happy story!

Hi Mary Jo!

How is your friend and her baby?  Is the baby born yet?  Any chance she lives in Naples?  A friend of mine just told me that there is a precious little one with Full Triomsy 18 in Naples who is a few weeks old and well.  It made me think of you and your friend’s little one.  How are you and your crew doing?  We are doing well.  I’m happy that this school year is comming to an end.  :-)

Easter blessings,

Courtney

Thinking of you both

Hope things are OK. Our prayers and thoughts are with you!! Chuck and Lora

Trisomy 18

Katie Jerozal passed your name onto me. We are also currently going through
the same experience, but I am a little farther along then you. I am now 33
weeks pregnant. I invite you to read my blog – www.buddzoo.blogspot.com. I
am not sure where you are located, but here in Greenville, I have had the
pleasure of meeting a 3 year old boy and an 8 year old girl that are both
trisomy 18 children! Their website is http://trisomy18hope.org. Also, if
there is a local Perinatal support network, that is very helpful in
connecting with other local parents and in determining medical resources who
will be supportive in the process.

If you are on facebook, look me up at Susan Kraieski Budd.

I will be praying for your family.

Our Thoughts

Mary & Mike, remember how much the two of you love each other and how much life is so wonderful when the two of you are together
